Kitty, almost 54, John’s partner, has many years of teaching experience in a secondary school. With her heart of a pioneer, she is passionate about humans and nature. Peace and quiet, space, silence and meaningful contact with people and animals are important fundamental principles to her. She spent most of her professional career in secondary education as a teacher of French, a decision maker in learning policies, co-founder and headmistress of a new HAVO-VWO secondary school in Breda (The Netherlands).
As a paranormal therapist she is interested in everything that is not directly visible to our eye. One of her other interests is restoring old furniture. At this moment she is coordinating and planning all activities related to the reconstruction of the buildings which will serve as a house. She is also working in the (vegetable) garden together with Nell and helps John with maintenance.
John, almost 54, Nel’s son and Kitty’s partner had been dreaming of starting a camping in France since he was 20. He somewhat drifted away into other professions, like an owner of an IT company and an IT system supervisor of a large secondary school (covering levels from VMBO to VWO) in Tilburg (The Netherlands). And then he met Kitty.
They both decided to resign and to put all their efforts into a new secondary school (HAVO/ VWO) in Breda (The Netherlands). After a number of years the old dream resurfaced again and half a year ago John together with Kitty has laid a new course, once more.
The camping, be it a small one, is there. John is busy with various domestic jobs every day. This comes down to taking care of the necessary repairs with hammer and nail, chain saw and spade.
Among John’s personal interests are the phenomenon of crop circles, space and constellations, power spots and human consciousness. The pyramid in the garden, for instance, is one of the spots where we and our guests could get charged with new energy.
Nel, almost 80, grew up in a city. In her small backyard located in the southern part of the country, she was enthusiastically growing various vegetables. She regularly makes little artworks from the natural materials found in the countryside. She also applies her creativity while painting in watercolours and acryl.
Nel made a decision to swap a city life for a French countryside for half a year. To be able to hear the silence and to experience freedom in nature are important elements in her life. When the weather is fine she is often found in the vegetable patch, ploughing, weeding, sowing and planting, her favourite garden activities. If the weather is not that inviting, Nel gets to her sewing machine to work on the furnishings of the house.
Bikkel is our own energetic little West Highland White terrier about 10 years of age. His character can be described as affectionate, a bit stubborn and independent. He doesn’t get along with every dog in his surroundings. This is the reason that we unfortunately cannot accept other pets.
