Retour à la Source means literally ' back to the source '. The source is meant as a symbol for the freedom to live the life you truly desire . But also the search for a natural source in the area keeps us busy considering the fact that it rains little in this area. It would be so nice to find a natural source on our backyard. In that way we do not longer depend on the use of tap water.
We saw in this lovely environment a chance to create, both for ourselves and others, a peaceful and calm environment but not isolated. Retour à la Source is primarily intended for people who seek tranquility amidst natural surroundings. Due to the character and objective of Retour à la Source this accommodation is especially suitable for adults.
At Retour à la Source harmony and respect for both man and nature are everyday values. Camper and guests spend their day as they wish. This may include activities such as: hiking, biking, reading, writing, working, meditating, painting, exploring and ... do nothing. However, there is also room to help with the maintenance of the forest, the reconstruction of the bourie and working in the (vegetable) garden.
We appreciate if every visitor respect quietness and cleanliness on and around the area.
Pech Peyrat
‘Retour à la Source' is located on a rural road named Pech Peyrat. The name itself refers to the many stones in this region. The main house and the seventeenth century house are mainly built of local stone. Around 1800 Pech Peyrat was a farm and according to what local people have told us, the water carrier of the village once lived there.
The main house and outbuildings have been inhabited for quit a long time. In the 1990s an Englishman was the first owner. At the end of the 1990s the property was bought by an enthusiastic Dutch couple that transformed a part of the barn into a living space. They were followed by an English couple that took the second part of the renovation on their behalf with as much passion and enthusiasm. In the next few years we will give it our own personal touch.
