Blepharoplasty, Surgery of the Eyelids. This surgery is generally used to treat droopy and saggy eyeslids or puffiness around the eyelid and facial plastic surgery. The sagging eyelids can cause you to look younger than your actual age.
For the adjustment of the upper eyelids, small incisions around the eye are made to hide the scars. Extra skin, muscles, and extra fat is then removed. Once the tissues have been stretched back to their original position, they are sutured. This method is similar for the removal of lower lids. An incision will be made at the edge of the eyelash line, or on the inside of lower lid.
Mentoplasty – Surgery of the Chin. Mentoplasty can result in augmentation or reduction of the chin. For augmentation the incision may be placed inside the lips (lower lip), or underneath the chin. A chin implant is then placed by stretching out the tissues around the area of the incision. If you want to decrease the size of your chin then an incision similar to this is made. You can reposition or shape the bones. The cut will only be visible on the surface.
Otoplasty (Ear Surgery) Operation is carried out in the natural fold located behind the ear. Scars are virtually unnoticeable by anyone else. Sutures can help to fix the cartilage and change its shape. Stitching can be used to secure cartilage, skin and other tissue that have been removed. Even children under five can have this done, eliminating years worth of unwanted self-consciousness.
Rhinoplasty – Nose Surgery When reconstructing a nose, cuts are often made in the inside of the nose. (There is no visible scarring). Bone and cartilage are added or removed to change the shape. After the surgeon shapes the nose according to their preferences, they will reform the skin and attach it over the bones and cartilage. In order to stabilize the structure, a support splint can be applied.
